御堂筋(Midosuji) / 大阪(Osaka)
“Midosuji” is the main street in Osaka running in North-South direction. It is selected as Japan 100 best streets. It is started at “梅田 (Umeda)” in North and ended at “難波 (Nanba)” in South. Above picture is the view of the North end looking from middle of the “Midosuji”.
Both of North end and South end are downtown and lots of restaurants, amusement and night clubs. However, the scene is different between the North and the South. Above photo is the South.
At the middle of “Midosuji”, high way crosses the street in East-West direction. It is interesting that buildings lay under the highway in the length of 1km. The buildings are called “船場センタービル (Senba Center Building)”. The building for the commercial business and you can buy various goods in less expensive price. Especially, apparels are really cheap and high quality. A lot of professional buyers visit this building from all over Japan.
You can find various office building, temples, Shinto shrines, luxury hotels and any other important things along with “Midosuji”.
Japan Bank which is National Bank of Japan has Osaka branch also along with “Midosuji”.
In December, illumination lights decorate the trees throughout “Midosuji” and it is fantastic. I love Osaka. I love walking through “Midosuji”. Every time I walk through “Midosuji”, Every time I find something.
