Live with Nature

When I was a child, I learned English at Labo. I have been to Labo land in Kurohime. I leaned a lot at there. Children gathered from all over Japan and stay almost 1 week without any support of their family.

I was around 10 years old. It was my first time to cook, to find natural food in the forest, and to build a fire. Nothing to play such as  baseball nor TV game but we were very busy and very tired everyday.

I am not sure whether or not such experience influenced my life,  but it is sure that I come to talk in English and love Japanese nature strongly.

If you live in rural area in Japan, you can feel variety of four season every year. All of these beautiful things are given from nature.

C.W. Nicol who is an author and naturalist is teaching how to live with nature in Japan. I believe it is irreplaceable experience for the people. I was strongly sympathized his activity when I learned that through Chu-nichi newspaper dated on October 25.

” If you don’t know how to fix it, please stop breaking it!”  this is a very famous speech made by Severn Cullis-Suzuki at Rio de Janeiro, when she was just 12 years old. We have to stop break our nature and we have to respect everything brought by nature.
