氷川神社 (Hikawa Shrine) / 埼玉(Saitama)
The Shrines called “氷川神社” (Hikawa Jinja) are located on various place in Tokyo, Kanazawa and Saitama. The Hikawa Shrine in “大宮”(Omiya), Saitama is the head temple of those “氷川神社”. The origin of the name of “大宮”(Omiya) is from big (大)imperial palace(宮居).
Very quiet place with beautiful scenery.
The shrine has important story in its history. At the end of the Edo period, common people shift those popular discontent to fanatically religion. The Shrine had used something convenience sake to such common people’s emotions by “薩長連合”(Satsuma and Choshu alliance).
As a result, “明治天皇” the emperor Meiji to worship at the shrine. Since them the shrine come to very important for imperial family and designated as castle guardian.
